Ear, Nose throat is a specialty concerned with medical treatment surgery of the ear, nose, throat and related structures of the head neck.

The specialty encompasses facial reconstruction surgery of benign and malignant tumours of the head and neck, management of patients with hearing loss and vestibular disorders, endooscopic examination of ear, food passages, nose Para nasal sinuses and treatment of allergy, sinus, laryngeal, thyroid and treatment of communication disorders.

The Department is responsible for providing medical treatment and surgery in it is specialty concerned to all hospitalized patients, outpatients, patients referred from other specialty.

A. Outpatient Services:

All patients referred to the department receive complete diagnostic evaluation.

Medical treatment will be prescribed for patients who need it.

Patients who need surgical treatment will be booked for surgery.

Audiological evaluation for hearing assessment and vestibular disorder patients.

Rehabilitation for vestibular disorder patients.

Speech therapy for patients with communication disorders.

Dubai Hospital Outpatient Services functions on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday between 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Rashid Hospital Outpatient services functions on Monday and Wednesday between 3:30 PM to 10:30 PM and on Tuesday and Thursday between 7:30 AM and 2:20 PM.

Al Towar Health Center Outpatient Services functions on Sunday between 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Al Satwa Health Center Outpatient Services functions on Sunday between 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Al Safa Health Center Services functions on Monday between 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

b. Inpatient services:

Daily ward rounds – morning and evening for patients in the department wards.

Admission of patients who condition needs ot be under observation and parenteral treatment.

Admission of patients who are booked for surgery.

C. On call services

The staff members provide 24 hours on call services to all A & E patients as well as inpatients and patients referred from other specialty who need medical treatment as well as surgical treatment.

D. Phoniatrics

Phoniatrics are a branch of ENT services which deal with different communications disorders including language, speech, voice and swallowing disorders to apply various diagnostics and therapeutics plane for each patient as delayed speech development, hearing impairment, cochlear implant, dysphasia and dysarthria, stuttering, nasality and different speech disorders.

E. Voice Clinic

Voice clinic is a highly specified PHoniatrics clinic which uses different diagnostic measures for voice and swallowing disorders including video-laryngo-stroboscopy to decide and apply the best line of intervention either medical, surgical or rehabilitation.

F. Audiology

This is a branch of ENT which deals with patient with hearing and equilibrium problems by applying various diagnostic measures including various audiometric measure, central auditory testing and tests for vestibular disorders.  It also provides therapeutic services for patients with hearing impairment including hearing aids fitting and programming of cochlear implant.
